NATIONAL VIDEO CONTEST Deadline December 5

by Apathy is Boring — December 5, 2008

Apathy is Boring thinks every video should be Democratic!

Video Contest extended until December 5th 2008!

Canadians have world-renowned music, hockey, and to top it all off this year we have a democracy that just turned 250 years old!

This calls for a celebration so grab your cellphones, cameras and webcams and create a short movie between 30sec -3 minutes in length about your vision of what the next 250 years of democracy in Canada would be like.

You could film a round table discussion with your friends or a conversation at a party, create a short narrative film, or even perform a monologue on your webcam… the opportunities are endless! Since democracy is such a vast subject here are a few questions to get you thinking:

- What does it mean as a young person to contribute to your country’s democracy?
- We’re celebrating 250 years of parliamentary democracy in Canada, what is your vision for the next 250 years?
- Would you encourage your friends to vote?
- What can you do to make sure your vote counts?
- What would it take to get YOU to the polls?

Make sure to vote for your favorite video and spread the word that Apathy… is Boring!

The winner will be flown to an Apathy is Boring Youth Dialogue from any major Canadian city with a friend in spring 2009 (travel and accommodation provided by Dose,ca) where their video will be showcased. The winner will also receive an Apathy is Boring gear prize pack, and have their video aired on www.apathyisboring.com for an entire year.

The contest, which runs from September 22 to December 5, 2008, inclusive, encourages young Canadians to look forward to our next 250 years and articulate their vision of Canada and the world.
