It is always possible that viewer's impression of Harper slipped after last night's televised debate having something to do with the format of the debate. With cracks from Layton like " Where's your platform? Under your sweater?" shows that the leaders opposing Conservatives had one goal last night, bring down Harper.

Fair? Maybe. Effective? Possibly. Strategic debating or political bullying? All is fair in love and war, but what about round-table debates and federal campaigns?
