Why should people, especially youth, vote?

I've been fortunate enough to have traveled around the world, and these experiences have made me appreciate that I live in Canada. To be able to participate in the fate of your own country truly is a privilege and a right, and voting should not be taken for granted. For youth, it's important to have an opinion and believe that you can make a difference....

For you, is there a connection between art and democracy? What is it?

I believe the connection is freedom of expression; to be able to influence people through your work and have the right to share your personal stories. We live in a country with unlimited opportunities, and music should allow the same liberty to express ourselves.

Why do you care about community, when it is so easy not to?

I care about the community because it has shaped me and will always be a part of who I am. Growing up, it's been my community that has supported me and I will never forget that. I’m proud of where I come from and will always represent my neighborhood; I don't think I will ever get to the point where I
stop caring about them.

What do you look for in a politician? What do you expect from your MP?

Someone who is interested in more than a political gain, someone who has compassion for their community and its people. A politician should be honest and genuinely want to make the right choices and changes; to better the community which they stand for. I would want someone who helps the disadvantaged and who properly represents every race, class and status.
